Each year, The Young & Hungry List is created from Hollywood’s most influential tastemakers to showcase the most in-demand, buzzed-about, and on-the-rise new writers.  Richard Eden and Shannon Hile were included on the 2014 list for two of their spec scripts, SPIRIT STALKERS and AFTERWORD.  SPIRIT STALKERS also put them on the Blacklist.

 

The husband and wife team met while performing the award-winning classic A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at the Los Angeles Art Theatre, winning several awards in the process.  After getting their starts as actors (Eden received a Daytime Emmy nomination for his role on SANTA BARBARA), the pair branched out to writing, producing and directing their own work.  

 

In 2013, RETRIBUTION, a female DEATHWISH, was produced by Mar Vista Entertainment and aired on Lifetime.   Eden wrote and starred in, and Hile wrote and directed, the horror movie THE INTERVENTION that screened at Fangoria’s Trinity of Terrors.

 

Eden and Hile’s scripts have been finalists in the Austin Film Festival, Final Draft’s Big Break, Cinequest, and L.A. Comedy Festival.  Their film spec script Montmartre was a semi-finalist in the Nicholl Fellowship and is the basis for the series.
